Former Home Minister Altaf Chowdhury’s bail, release is not barred

The court granted bail to BNP Vice Chairman, former Home Minister and former Air Force Chief Air Vice Marshal (retd) Altaf Hossain Chowdhury in the case of attack on the Chief Justice’s residence.

Today Thursday (February 22) Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate of Dhaka. Sultan Sohag Uddin’s court ordered bail after the hearing.

Altaf Hossain Chowdhury’s lawyer Taherur Islam Tauhid said that there is no obstacle to his release from prison as he has been granted bail in all cases.

It is known that Altaf Hossain Chowdhury was picked up by the detective police from Uttara in the capital in the early hours of November 4. Later, the law and media wing of the RAB headquarters informed that Air Vice Marshal (retd) Altaf Hossain Chowdhury was arrested while hiding in Tongi area as a suspect in the case of attack, sabotage and violence at the residence of the Chief Justice.

The CMM Court of Dhaka rejected Altaf Hossain Chowdhury’s bail application on November 5 and ordered him to be sent to jail. Since then he has been in jail
