Shamsuzzaman Dudu got bail in five cases

BNP vice chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudur’s bail application has been granted by the court in five separate cases of Ramna, Paltan and Badda police stations of the capital.
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate of Dhaka on Sunday (February 18). Sultan Sohag Uddin gave this order. Masood Ahmed Talukdar, Syed Zainul Abedin Mejbah conducted the bail hearing on behalf of the accused. They said in the hearing that there is no specific complaint against Dudu. The purpose for which the arrest was made has ended. Bail may be granted on consideration of sick, elderly. After the hearing, the judge ordered the bail. The bailable cases are three cases of Ramna Model Police Station, one case each of Badda and Paltan Police Stations. Besides, three cases of Paltan police station were not heard due to lack of documents. Bail hearing will be held subject to receipt of documents.
Earlier this afternoon, the court granted the application to arrest Shamsuzzaman Dudu in four cases of Paltan Police Station, three of Ramna Police Station and one of Badda Police Station. On February 15, his lawyers filed a bail application in the Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court with an application to show arrest in these eight cases.
It is to be noted that last year on November 5, at 12 o’clock in the night, a group of 15-20 people identified as detective police picked up Shamsuzzaman Dudu from his elder sister’s cantonment house. The next day, the court ordered remand in the case of attack on the Chief Justice’s residence, attack on police and killing of policemen. After the remand, he was sent to prison on November 9. He has been in prison ever since.
