Bhuvan got the rights to the song ‘Kachha Badam’

Birbhum’s folk artist Bhuvan Badyakar finally won the legal battle and regained the ownership of raw almonds. He made this song viral on social media in 2021. Millions of people around the world have heard this song. On November 21, 2021, the news of this song by Bhuvan Badyakar was first broadcast. Instantly it went viral. That song keeps coming back to people’s mouths.
But trouble arose when a Bhuvan named Gopal Ghosh took over the copyright of his song to the musician. As a result, Gopal Ghosh is demanding money by attaching copyright to the accounts of those who are posting the song ‘Kachha Badam’ on social media. According to Bhuvan, the amount of that money is about 13 crores. Even Bhuvan Badyakar himself had to pay the copyright after making that song! As a result, despite being famous, Bhuvan was in trouble.
Gopal Ghosh of Ilambazar and his company ‘Godhulibela Music’ have complained about this several times at Dubrajpur police station. Originally Bhuvan Badyakar had complained that Gopal Ghosh had written off his copyright rights in the name of providing him with IPRS i.e. Artists Allowance despite his first copyright agreement with Bankura’s ‘Bengal Remix Music’.
Bhuvan later applied to the Copyright Board of the Central Government for the return of the copyright. Bankura’s music company fought for him. At the same time, a complaint was filed in the court to get back the money that Gopal Ghosh had withdrawn in the name of copyright. That case is still pending in court.
But in the meantime, the copyright board of the central government of Mumbai has given the certificate of ownership of the song ‘Kachha Badam’ to the company in Bankura. The world is waiting for the verdict of the court for copyright infringement. The hearing of this case will be on February 26.
