Eminent nuclear scientist and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s husband late Dr. MA Wazed Mia’s 82nd birth anniversary today (February 16).
On this occasion, Pirganj Upazila Administration, Pirganj Upazila Awami League, MA Wazed Foundation and Awami League organized various programs including offering tributes, commemoration, Fateha Path, Milad Mahfil, distribution of food among the poor and needy.
These programs will be held from Friday morning at the Joysadan of Fatehpur in Laldighi, the residence of the deceased scientist, the party office of the Upazila Awami League and the Upazila Parishad auditorium.
After starting the day’s program by paying floral tributes at the scientist’s grave on Friday morning, there will be a doa mahfil, discussion meeting, tabarak distribution at the Jai Sadan premises. In the afternoon, commemoration and special prayers will be held at the upazila Jame Masjid under the initiative of the upazila administration.
Also, under the initiative of the District Commissioner, Gopinathpur Hafizia Madrasa and Orphanage will serve Koran Khatam and high quality food to the students. Upazila executive officer Iqbal Hasan and upazila Awami League general secretary and late scientist’s nephew mayor Tajimul Islam Shamim confirmed these programs.
