The driver-helper died due to an argument about the bus

Abus driver and a helper of Itishah Paribahan were killed in an argument with the passengers for demanding an extra fare at Ashulia on the Nabinagar-Chandra highway.

The beating incident took place in the Dhaka Export Processing Zone (DEPZ) on Monday (April 8) afternoon. They later died around 7 p.m. while undergoing treatment at Sheikh Fazilatunnecha Mujib Memorial KPJ Specialized Hospital in Kashimpur, Gazipur.

The deceased are the drivers Sohail Rana Babu (26) from Tongi area of Gazipur and Hriday (30) from Phulpur area of Mymensingh, the helper of the same bus.

Ashulia Police Inspector (Investigation), Md. Masudur Rahman, said that the driver and helper of Itishah Paribahan were attacked by passengers for asking for an extra fare. They were seriously injured and admitted to Sheikh Fazilatunnecha Hospital in the Tetuibari area of Kashimpur, where they died while undergoing treatment.

Md. Masudur Rahman also said that legal action is being taken in this incident. Preparations are underway to recover the body and send it to the morgue for a post-mortem.
