Mashrafe will not play in this year’s BPL

Sylhet Strikers reached the final in the ninth season of BPL under the leadership of former Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza. The team of Sylhet started campaign under his leadership in this season as well. But this time Mashrafe’s leadership was no longer working.

Mashrafe was criticized for losing consecutive matches. The situation was such that finally he was forced to leave the BPL temporarily to fulfill his political duties. However, the team said that Mash will return again when he has time. However, this popular captain of the Tigers is not returning to the field.

When Mashrafe went on a temporary break from the BPL on January 31, it was speculated that he might not be returning to the Sylhet jersey this time. After being re-elected as a Member of Parliament from Narail-2 constituency in the 12th National Parliament Elections, Mashrafe got the responsibility of the National Parliament Whip.

After being widely criticized for coming down on the playground without fitness, he said that he wanted to fulfill political responsibilities. Definitely a temporary break from BPL. He has become active in the field of politics by handing over the captaincy of Sylhet Strikers to vice-captain Mohammad Mithun.

Sylhet Strikers made a statement at that time, Mashrafe will be seen again in the current BPL if he can give time outside of political responsibility. Sylhet also thanked the four-time title winning captain. But in the end it was known that Mashrafe is not returning to this year’s BPL.

Sylhet Strikers coach Rajin Saleh has given the same indication. But Mashrafe is not giving up cricket now. He said that this former captain will be seen again in BPL next year.

On Thursday (February 15), Sylhet head coach Rajin Saleh told the media, “He has very little chance.” To tell the truth, he is busy with the office. Since he can’t now maybe he will make a good comeback next year.’

In this season, Mashrafe played the first 5 matches for Sylhet. He did not complete his four-over spell in any of these five matches, and did not bowl in any of them. He took only 1 wicket in five matches. Which is widely criticized. His team lost in each of the five matches
