Service should be inspired by the spirit of freedom: Lands Minister

Lands Minister Narayan Chandra Chand said, people should be served by the spirit of independence. We must work to build a smart Bangladesh through the implementation of sustainable people-friendly land services.

He said this at the discussion meeting titled ‘Leadership and Development Ideas of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’ organized on the occasion of Great Independence and National Day-2024 at Bhumi Bhavan in Tejgaon of the capital on Tuesday.

The land minister said that after independence, Bangabandhu gave importance to fair and sustainable use of land and fair rights of people over land in building the country and nation. After the independence of the country, he took various landmark decisions on land issues. His privileged daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina took the land management reform program seriously in the same sequence. He made land management one of the parts of Smart Bangladesh implementation and delta planning.

Addressing the land officials, he said, like the brave freedom fighters, they jumped into the historical struggle for the liberation of the country and the people. Similarly, as a servant of the people, you have to work diligently to implement Smart Bangladesh and change the economic destiny of the country and the people.

Narayan Chandra Chand said that land is directly and indirectly related to the interests of every citizen of the country. Lack of efficient and fair land management is a major obstacle to national development. Therefore, to build a smart Bangladesh, efficient and fair land management must be ensured.

At this time, Land Secretary was present. Khalilur Rahman, Chairman of Land Appeal Board AKM Shamimul Haque, Chairman of Land Reform Board. Abdus Sabur Mandal, Director General of Land Records and Survey Department Anis Mahmud and others
