Independence Day celebrated at Delhi High Commission

Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi celebrated the Great Independence and National Day with due dignity and joyous atmosphere.

High Commissioner Md. Mostafizur Rahman started the day-long program by hoisting the national flag and placing wreaths at the portrait of the Father of the Nation at the High Commission premises on Tuesday (March 26) morning.

A discussion program was organized at the High Commission on the occasion of the day. On this occasion, the speeches of the President, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister were read out.

High Commissioner Md. Mostafizur Rahman said that the main goal of the liberation war was to build a liberal, developed and democratic state through total liberation.

He urged everyone to take part in building ‘Smart Bangladesh’ under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, keeping the spirit of the Liberation War and the ideals of Bangabandhu in their hearts.

A documentary on the ongoing development journey of Bangladesh was also screened at the event. Besides, a special prayer is offered for the souls of all the martyrs.

A special reception was organized at the High Commission premises in the evening. Prominent political leaders of the host country, high-ranking officials, foreign diplomats and expatriate Bangladeshis were present on this occasion
