Mirza Fakhrul went to Singapore

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir went to Singapore for health check-up. His wife Rahat Ara Begum is also with him.

They left for Singapore from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on a Bangladesh Biman flight at 8:30 am on Monday (March 4).

This information was given by BNP Secretary General Yunus Ali. He said, ‘Sir has left for Singapore for a health checkup. A clinic in Singapore will see a few specialist doctors. Appointments of doctors have already been made. Sir will return to the country on the 18th.

Mirza Fakhrul was released on bail on February 15 after almost three and a half months of imprisonment. 77-year-old Fakhrul had earlier received treatment in Singapore. He last visited Singapore on 24 August 2023. In 2015, BNP Secretary General was diagnosed with a block in the internal carotid artery of his neck while in prison. After his release, he went to Singapore for treatment. After that, he has to go to Singapore every year for follow-up treatment.

It should be noted that Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader is currently in Singapore for a health check-up. He also has to go to Singapore regularly for treatment of heart disease.
