Bangladesh Police has been able to prove that it has fulfilled its duties with utmost devotion to the needs of the country: Cabinet Secretary

On the second day of Police Week 2024, today Wednesday (28 February 2024) evening, a consultation meeting of senior police officers was held with Cabinet Secretary Mr. Md. Mahbub Hossain at Rajarbagh Police Lines.

Inspector General of Police, Bangladesh, Mr. Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun BPM (Bar), PPM was chaired by Senior Secretary of Public Security Department of Ministry of Home Affairs, Mr. Md. Mostafizur Rahman BPAA as the special guest. Mr. Devdas Bhattacharya, President of the Implementation Sub-Committee and Additional IGP gave the welcome speech.

Additional IGP (Administration) Mr. Md. Kamrul Ahsan, Director General of RAB Mr. M. Khurshid Hossain, Additional IGP of SB Mr. Md. Monirul Islam and officials from the Superintendent of Police were present on the occasion.

In the chief guest’s speech, Cabinet Secretary Mr. Md. Mahbub Hossain said that Bangladesh Police is in the first line as a service provider. Bangladesh Police has been able to prove that it fulfills its duties with utmost devotion to the needs of the country.

He said, the theme of this year’s Police Week ‘Smart Police, Smart Country, Bangladesh of Peace and Progress’ has attracted me. Honorable Prime Minister announced the formation of Smart Bangladesh from Digital Bangladesh. Bangladesh Police is one of the explorers of Smart Bangladesh formationIn this year’s Police Week message, the Hon’ble Prime Minister said, “Bangladesh Police has repeatedly passed the test of patriotism and professionalism.” This is a big recognition for you.

He thanked the police officers for conducting the 12th National Assembly elections in a peaceful atmosphere. Addressing the police officers, he said, transparency and accountability should be ensured in the performance of duties.

Senior Secretary Mr. Md. Mostafizur Rahman said that the government is sincere in the rational solution of various issues of Bangladesh Police in providing services to the people.

Inspector General of Police, Bangladesh Mr. Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun BPM (Bar), PPM said that the police are responsible for providing comfort to the common people. Hon’ble Prime Minister has increased police manpower, increased manpower, increased logistics, provided training. As a result, the police has been able to successfully suppress militancy in the light of the ‘Zero Tolerance’ policy announced by the Hon’ble Prime Minister against militancy.
