Bangladesh Police call to prayer, kerat and essay competition held

The prize distribution of Bangladesh Police Annual Azaan, Kerat and Composition Competition-2024 was held today Friday (March 29) at the Bangladesh Police Central Jame Masjid in Rajarbagh Police Lines.

Inspector General of Police, Bangladesh Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun BPM (Bar), PPM was the chief guest on the occasion.

Additional IGP (Administration) Md. Kamrul Ahsan BPM (Bar) presided over the function. Additional IGPs, senior police officers, policemen and a large number of devotees were present on the occasion.

In the chief guest’s speech, the IGP said, besides performing the important duty of maintaining law and order, as a part of knowledge and religious practice among the members of Bangladesh Police, adhan, kerat and composition competition has been organized like every year.

He said that policemen from all police units participated in the competition.

The IGP invited the winners of the competition to participate in various national level competitions. He also announced the initiation of Azan and Qaraat training. Besides, as recognition of the merit of the winners, he requested the concerned to take necessary measures to make them read Quran in various events of Bangladesh Police.

He thanked the judges for conducting the judging process of the competition in a fair and impartial manner.

Addressing the contestants, the IGP said that those who could not win this time should practice regularly to do better in the future.

Later, the IGP presented the crest, certificates and prizes to the winners.

Constable Sagar Hossain Sabbir of DMP became the first in the call to prayer in the competition, Naik Abu Musa of 3 APBN, Shiromani, Khulna came second and ASI (Armed) of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police Md Omar Farooq came third.

Naik Abu Musa of 3 APBN, Shiromani, Khulna took first place in Kera, Constable Md Ismail Hossain Munna of RRF, Khulna came second and Constable Belal Ahmad of RAB Headquarters came third.

In the essay competition titled “Role of Islam in maintaining global peace and harmony”, the first Special Branch (SB), Dhaka’s Senior Assistant Sheikh Rezaul Kabir, Second Police Headquarters SI (Unarmed) Shamim Al Mamun and Third Police Headquarters Naik AKM Khalid Saifullah.

Selected policemen from different units of Bangladesh Police participated in the final competition in Dhaka.

In the event, the first place winners in the Azan and Kerat competition gave the Azan and recited the Quran
