Bangladesh Air Force and Pacific Air Force, USA inaugurated the joint exercise ‘Exercise Cope South 2024’

 

Under the direction of the Armed Forces Department and the management of the Bangladesh Air Force, the 10 (ten) day joint exercise titled ‘Exercise Cope South-2024’ with the participation of the Bangladesh Air Force and the United States Pacific Air Force has started on 19 February 2024 (Monday). On this occasion, an inaugural ceremony was organized at Bangladesh Air Force Base Bangabandhu on 19 February 2024. Bangabandhu Base Air Captain Air Vice Marshal Md. Badrul Amin, OSP, BUP, NDC, FAWC, PSC delivered the welcome speech at the opening ceremony.

In ‘Exercise Cope South-2024’, different types of exercises will be conducted mainly to deal with emergencies and natural calamities as well as to ensure maximum utilization of transport aircraft of Bangladesh Air Force. One C-130J of Bangladesh Air Force and two C-130J transport aircraft of Pacific Air Force are participating in this exercise. Also, an AN-32 transport aircraft of the Bangladesh Air Force has been kept ready to participate in the exercise. A total of 250 members of the Air Force and 78 members of the US Pacific Air Force will participate in Exercise Cope South-2024. Besides 12 paratroopers of Bangladesh Air Force, 30 paratroopers (11 free fallers and 19 static jumpers) from Bangladesh Army and 40 paratroopers from Bangladesh Navy will participate in the exercise.

In this exercise, increasing interoperability between the Bangladesh Air Force and the United States Pacific Air Force, exchanging training, evaluating the functionality of various equipment used during the training and taking suggestions for its better use, all the equipment that the Bangladesh Air Force needs in this activity in the futureIt will be diagnosed and will be highlighted on various issues including various methods of advanced maintenance of transport aircraft
