Great news for MPO teachers and staff!

It is said that discussions are going on to bring teachers and employees of private MPO institutions under pension. If brought under pension, the teachers will get a fixed amount of allowance every month along with a lump sum after retirement.

According to the concerned sources, an informal meeting was held on Thursday (February 15) to discuss the financial matters of the Teachers’ Welfare Trust and the Pension Board. In addition to Education Minister Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury, high-level officials of the education administration were present. In the meeting, it was proposed to start the pension for teachers.

Meanwhile, an official present at the meeting on the condition of anonymity told the media that there was a discussion about the introduction of the teachers’ pension scheme. To implement this, the Retirement Board Act needs to be changed. That is why a proposal to form a high-level technical committee was made in the meeting. This committee will decide everything.
