Explosion at chemical factory in India, 5 killed

At least five people were killed in a reactor explosion at a chemical plant in Telangana, India. Another eight to 10 people are still trapped, according to various media in the country. The death toll may increase.

NDTV, citing local news, reported that there were 50 people in the building at the time of the explosion. The manager of the factory is believed to be among the dead. The injured are being treated at a local government hospital.

According to local media, there is a risk of explosion due to the presence of chemicals in the factory. The authorities have evacuated the people around the factory.

Earlier on Monday, a cotton mill caught fire due to an electrical short circuit in the Sangareddy district of Telangana. However, there was no casualty in the incident. A week before this, a fire occurred in a food manufacturing factory.
