.In a tweet, President Arif Alvi said, if the voting was done in EVM (Electronic Voting Machine), then the people of Pakistan would not have to see this ordeal. The results were known long ago. At least 50 meetings were held to vote through EVM machines but all failed.
He said that the time required for counting the ballot paper, the counting of votes can be done in much less time than if voting is done through EVM machines.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Syed Asim Munir said that the nation needs a strong and stable hand to emerge from the politics of anarchy and polarization for a progressive nation of 250 million people.
He said that elections are not a contest of winning and losing but an exercise to determine the mandate of the people. Political workers and leaders should rise above their own interests and engage themselves in the service of the people.
