Case against YouTuber Pinaki Bhattacharya and 7 people

A case has been filed against seven people including YouTuber Pinaki Bhattacharya in Sylhet court. On Sunday (February 18), the case was filed in Sylhet Cyber ​​Tribunal by Muktijudda Manch Sylhet District Branch Vice President Abdur Rahman.

Apart from Pinaki Bhattacharya, the other accused in the case are – Content creator Nazmul Islam, Shahriar Hossain Saqib (SH), Facebook page ‘Fight for Democracy’ admin Shakeel Ahmed, Md. Hasan Mia (Hasan), Md. Abdul Hadi and Md. Rezaul Karim.

It is mentioned in the complaint of the case that the defendants are trying to cause social damage by spreading rumors and propaganda against Bangladesh Awami League’s Guardian Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, anonymously and disguised. Apart from this, he has caused defamation by attaching pictures of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to other people’s pictures and creating pictures by editing satirical cartoons.

Additional Public Prosecutor (APP) of Sylhet Judge Court, Advocate Mahfuzur Rahman confirmed the matter and said that when a person named Abdur Rahman complained to the cyber tribunal after he was offended by distorting and editing the picture of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Facebook, the judge of the tribunal (district judge) Md. Monir Kamal took cognizance of the case and directed CID Zone Sylhet to submit an investigation report.
