The Awami League took 21 years to come to power. Nazrul Islam

BNP Standing Committee member Nazrul Islam Khan said the BNP has been out of power for 17 years. They have been saying since 10 years ago; they have been saying since 12 years ago that BNP is broken and BNP cannot do agitation. They (the Awami League) have been in power for 21 years. Was their hip broken or straight? Those who take 21 years to come to power have no right to complain that BNP cannot. At the time of 22 years. Not before that.

He said these things to reporters after meeting with the family of Dhaka Metropolitan BNP leader Imtiaz Ahmed Bulbul, who was killed while incarcerated in Gopi Bagh of the capital on Friday (February 23).

Nazrul Islam Khan said, We want change and believe that this change is impossible; it will definitely happen, inshallah. Political programs are of different types according to the demands of different times. We have won many movements. We have won the movement to overthrow the dictator Ershad. The 1/11 government wanted to hold elections under a state of emergency but could not face our obstacles. We are trying to restore democracy. This BNP established multi-party democracy over Gorestan of Bakshal (one-party rule); this BNP established parliamentary democracy at the end of military dictatorship. So this BNP will, inshallah once again establish democracy and good governance in Bangladesh.

Highlighting the government’s repression of opposition leaders and workers, he said, “This is a country.” You pick up someone without informing them at any time; leave them where they are; don’t give treatment; sick people will die without treatment; it can’t be the policy of any state. A state has a duty. Those who are in charge of running the state have a duty. No duties are being performed.

In the morning, Nazrul Islam Khan visited the residence of BNP leader Imtiaz Ahmed Bulbul, who was killed in jail at Gopi Bagh in the capital. He talks to his brother and two sisters and hears about Bulbul’s brutal death. Nazrul Islam Khan called the death of Imtiaz Ahmed Bulbul, a member of BNP, Ward No. 39, Dhaka Metropolitan South, a’murder” and demanded justice. He said that they have come to meet Bulbul’s family on the instructions of Tariq Rahman, the party’s acting chairman. He also said that BNP will stand by his family.

Bulbul Kashimpur, who was arrested on October 24, suffered a heart attack at the Dhaka Central Jail in Kashimpur on November 24 and was brought to the Suhrawardy Heart Institute, where the doctors declared him dead.
