Replacement of Bangladesh Air Force Peacekeeping Contingent in Democratic Republic of Congo

As part of the replacement of 2 contingents currently stationed in Congo by 2 new contingents, 153 members of the Air Force left Dhaka for Congo on Saturday, March 02, 2024, in a United Nations chartered aircraft (Ethiopian Airlines). The remaining members of the contingent will leave for Congo on March 24, 2024.

These contingents of Bangladesh Air Force consist of Utility Aviation Unit-21 and Air Transport Unit-14 headed by Air Commodore Mohammad Zahir Uddin, GUP, ACSC, PSC and Group Captain Md Habibur Rahman, PSC respectively. It is to be noted that the members of the Bangladesh Air Force have been able to gain the trust of the government and the masses of the country by performing their duties with great efficiency, professionalism and sincerity in resolving the conflict in Congo. A prayer program was organized at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, wishing that the peacekeepers can achieve more excellence in future days by keeping their reputation and success intact.
