“Not on numbers but on becoming a good doctor”

Emphasis is on becoming a good doctor, not on numbers.

Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Samant Lal Sen said, “I have given special emphasis to becoming good people and good quality doctors rather than increasing the number of doctors.”

He said this at the awarding ceremony of Kriti students organized by Rajarbagh Baradeshwari Kalimata Mandir Puja Committee of the capital on Wednesday.

The health minister told the students that it is important for you to be honest, idealistic people and to be good doctors. Millions of helpless people of the country are looking at your face. When a patient comes for treatment, the patient knows how important the doctor is to him.

Local Ward Councilor Chittaranjan Das, President of Baradeswari Kalimata Puja Committee, presided over the function. Awami League organizing secretary Sujit Roy Nandi also spoke on the occasion.
