Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal said, we will not give any concessions to corruption related to National Identity Card (NID). In this case, I will not hesitate to hand over the concerned officer to the police.
He said these things in the speech of the chief guest at a discussion meeting organized on the occasion of National Voter’s Day on Saturday.
Kazi Habibul Awal said, the importance of NID has increased a lot. It is essential now. There are many times when there is a crisis regarding the division of property. It’s not gone yet. But the NID has reached a much better state than before. I can’t do many things without it.
He said, not too many, those who are very clever make more than one card. So our officials will work with caution. I may have mistaken the NID card that is done to sell the property. But if we do it knowingly as part of the crime, then our tolerance will be zero. We will not hesitate to transfer such officers to the police.
