New Chairman of International Criminal Tribunal

Justice Md. as the chairman of the International Criminal Tribunal. Abu Ahmed jomadar has been appointed by the government. On Tuesday (February 27), the Ministry of Law issued a notification by order of the President appointing him as the chairman of the tribunal.

Law Secretary Md. It is said in the notification signed by Golam Sarwa, the chairman of the International Criminal Tribunal, Justice Md. According to the provisions of Section 6 (4) of the International Crimes (Tribunal) Act, 1973, the current member of the tribunal, Justice Md. Abu Ahmed Jamadar was appointed as Chairman and A,H,M, Habibur Rahman Bhuiyan, District and Sessions Judge (enjoying PRL) as members of the Tribunal on cancellation of his PRL. Another member of the tribunal, Justice KM Hafizul Alam, was retained in his position.

It is said in the announcement, the chairman of the International Criminal Tribunal, Justice Md. Shahinur Islam will return to Bangladesh Supreme Court, High Court Division from International Criminal Tribunal. All security facilities and other benefits accorded to him during his service at the International Criminal Tribunal shall continue as per rules.

The chairman and members of the said tribunal will receive salaries and other privileges equivalent to a judge working in the High Court Division of the Bangladesh Supreme Court.
