Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has today appointed Habibul Bashar Sumon, a member of the former selection committee of the national team, as the head of the women’s team.
Bashar, the former captain of the national team, took charge as the head of the women’s department after a meeting at the Mirpur Shere Bangla National Cricket Stadium today. Shafiul Alam Chowdhury Nadel, president of women’s committee, was present there.
Nadel and women’s team captain Nigera Sultana Jyoti congratulated Bashar after officially taking over.
Since 2016, Bashar has been a part of the selection panel of the National Men’s Party. His term in the selection committee will officially end on February 28 with chief selector Minhajul Abedin Nannu.
Nannu was replaced by Gazi Ashraf Hossain Lipu and Hannan Sarkar took charge in place of Bashar.
Before becoming a member of the men’s party selection panel in 2016, Bashar was on the women’s party selection panel.
According to BCB insider sources, former chief selector Minhajul Abedin Nannu will be given an important role in the tournament committee.
