Bangladesh’s losses due to climate change are high: Speaker

Speaker Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury said that Bangladesh has suffered a lot due to climate change. Climate conferences should highlight the adverse effects of climate change on Bangladesh and seek compensation for adverse effects.

He said this when the Ambassador of Bangladesh to the Netherlands Riaz Hamidullah came to pay a courtesy call at his office at Sangsad Bhavan on Sunday. During the meeting, they discussed various issues including climate change, business and trade fair held in the Netherlands.

The speaker said that the environment of our country should be fixed according to our needs. So everyone should try to prevent environmental pollution through river pollution, leather industry waste and unplanned brick kilns.

Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury said trade fairs can be organized every year outside Bangladesh. Such fairs can play a positive role in the expansion of various Bangladeshi services and industries.
