A fire broke out at Kacchi Bhai restaurant on Bailey Road in the capital. The fire started on Thursday (February 29) around 9:45 p.m.
The public relations officer of the fire service confirmed the matter. Anwarul said that the first unit of the fire service reached the spot within six minutes after receiving the report of the fire at 9:50 p.m. 12 more units have already joined in to bring the fire under control.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ramna Police Station, Utpal Barua, said that there was a fire in the Kacchi Bhai restaurant on the second floor of the six-story building. No casualties have been reported in this incident so far.
Mohammad Salman Farsi, Assistant of Police Ramna Zone, said that the upper floors of the multi-story building are residential. Residents are trapped there. Efforts are being made to rescue them.
However, initially, no information is known about the cause of the fire.
