Education Minister Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury said that a smart curriculum has been developed to build a smart Bangladesh.
He said this at the closing and prize distribution ceremony of the Inter-School-College Annual Sports, Cultural, and Debate Competition 2024 organized by Chittagong City Corporation at the parade ground of Chittagong City on Friday.
The education minister said we are developing smart curricula on the instructions of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to build a smart Bangladesh. In the new curriculum, we are emphasizing soft skill building. The modern education system is being developed instead of traditional education to develop cultural activities, the mentality of working on time, teamwork, and leadership skills with the aim of achieving universal skills.
Referring to Chittagong City Corporation as a unique city corporation in Bangladesh, the education minister said that this city corporation invests heavily in education and healthcare. In this case, Chasik is a model city corporation.
Urging the mayor to protect the ground, the education minister also said, “We don’t need to hold a fair by occupying the playground; we need to play.” The mayor should come forward to protect the fields of Chittagong so that the students can play in the fields. Efforts should be made to ensure that girls also get a chance to play along with boys.
In the event, Chasik Chief Executive Officer Sheikh Muhammad Touhidul Islam, Panel Mayor Gias Uddin, Afroza Kalam, Chasik Education Standing Committee President Councilor Dr. Councilors including Nishar Uddin Ahmed Manju, Secretary Khaled Mahmud, Mayor’s Private Secretary and Chief Education Officer Muhammad Abul Hashem, Heads of Departments and Branches, and Principal of Chittagong College. Mojahidul Islam Chowdhury and teachers and students of various educational institutions in Chasik participated.
