Bollywood movie ‘Animal’ is fighting one after another at the box office. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Bhangar and starring Ranbir Kapoor, the movie is creating one record after another at the box office. The movie has already surpassed ‘Pathan’ and ‘Gadar 2’ in terms of business. Although Shahrukh Khan’s ‘Jawan’ is still out of reach!
According to a Hindustan Times report, ‘Animal’ has earned close to Rs 300 crore in just five days of release. And yesterday (Tuesday) the movie earned Rs 38.25 crore at the box office. Which is pretty good income for a mid-week.
Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Animal’ was released on December 1. The pre-booking had started three days earlier. Even before the movie hit the theaters, the pre-booking of the tickets was about Rs 34 crores.
The film earned Rs 63.8 crore on its release day i.e. Friday. And on Saturday it increased to Rs 66.27 crore. The film had the highest revenue of Rs 71.46 crore on the weekend i.e. Sunday.
And last Monday and Tuesday, the movie collected 43.96 and 48.25 crores. As a result, the total income of the movie in five days is 283.74 crore rupees.
Apart from Hindi, ‘Animal’ was released in Telugu, Tamil, Karnataka, Malayalam. Out of this, the movie has done business like 30 crores in 5 days in Telugu. In other languages income is nominal.
Sandeep Reddy before Bhanga gave the audience hits like ‘Arjun Reddy’ and ‘Kabir Singh’. Under his direction, the movie ‘Animal’ also walked on the same path.
The movie received positive reviews from critics. Ranbir Kapoor’s performance was also highly appreciated. But at the same time, the ‘toxic’ tag has fallen on the movie. Many think that movies like ‘Animal’ will send a bad message to the society.
Meanwhile, ‘Sam Bahadur’ starring Vicky Kaushal and directed by Meghna Gulzar, released on the same day, is doing well. However, critics have praised this movie. Returning audiences are also pleased to see Vicky as late Army Chief-Field Marshal Sam Manekash on screen. But business figures are disappointing. In 5 days this movie earned only 22 crore rupees.
However, ‘Animal’ will be able to survive until December 22. Because then when Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dunky’ comes, it will be difficult to keep the hall occupied. Meanwhile, two Bollywood movies are coming again on December 8. Among them is Siddharth Malhotra’s ‘Joddha’ produced by Karan Johar. And Katrina Kaif’s Merry Christmas.
