Rituparna Sengupta is coming to Dhaka

A film festival will be organized at the Jamaica Performing Arts Center in the United States on April 20 and 21 in memory of the popular Bengali actress Suchitra Sen.

‘Suchitra Sen International Bengali Film Festival’ is organized by Suchitra Sen Memorial USA. Actress Rituparna Sengupta inaugurated the logo and website of this two-day festival in an event organized in Jamaica on January 28. This time, Rituparna is coming to Dhaka to participate in the press conference of the festival.

Hasanuzzaman Saki, one of the organizers of the Suchitra Sen festival, said that a press conference will be held on the occasion of the Suchitra Sen festival at the conference hall of the National Press Club on February 22 at 12 noon. Rituparna Sengupta will be present there.

He also said, ‘Earlier, two Bengali films were screened separately in the United States. But a full festival is the first time. 10 feature films, 5 documentaries, 5 short films from two Bengals will be screened in this two-day 35-hour festival. Many movies have already been submitted. A selection from there will be displayed at the festival.

A press conference has been organized in Dhaka on February 22 to give details about the festival.

In this regard, Rituparna said, ‘I will be present at the press conference organized on the occasion of Suchitra Sen Film Festival. Hope to see my favorite faces again in Dhaka. I am very proud to be a guest at such an esteemed festival.’

Director Morshedul Islam, Indian director Bedbrat Pine and Mary Lee Grisanti, a film teacher at the School of Visual Arts in New York, will act as judges at the Suchitra Sen Film Festival.
