Gas from two wells of Rashidpur Gasfield in Habiganj has been connected to the national grid line. Through this, 18 million cubic feet of gas supply will be available daily.
State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid officially inaugurated the two wells of the gas field on Sunday afternoon. On this day, gas supply started from wells 2 and 9 of the gas field.
State Minister Nasrul Hamid said that gas from wells 2 and 9 of the gas field has been added to the national grid line. Through this, 18 million cubic feet of gas supply will be available daily. The production of the gas field increased to 66 million cubic feet per day.
Managing Director of Gas Field Company Limited (SGFCL). Mizanur Rahman said that the extraction of gas from well No. 2 was stopped for a long time. Production optimized through workovers. 8 million cubic feet of gas is available from that well.
He said, the precedent of getting this amount of gas through workover is very less. On the other hand, well number 9 is new, gas could not be extracted due to lack of pipeline there
