Bollywood King Shahrukh Khan did not receive any award last year despite being in discussion. However, this year the drought of awards has ended. This time he got the best actor award.
Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2024 was held in Mumbai on Tuesday. It was attended by many Bollywood stars including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Rani Mukerji, Shahid Kapoor, Shahrukh Khan.
Apart from this, Shahrukh starrer ‘Jawaan’ and Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Animal’ have received the most awards. The best actor award for Dadasaheb Falk went to Bollywood King. He received this award for the movie ‘Jawaan’.
Directed by Atlee Kumar, the film was released in August 2023. The film is now number one in the list of highest grossing films of Bollywood. Shah Rukh won the best actor award for this movie. Nayantara, the lady superstar of southern cinema, was selected as the best actress.
Thanking the Jury Board with the award, Shah Rukh Khan said, “Thank you to the members of the Jury Board, who found me worthy of the Best Actor Award.” I have not received the best actor award for a long time. I thought I would never get it again. So I am very happy. I like prizes, I’m a bit greedy.
On the other hand, Bobby Deol won the award for Best Actor in a Negative Role for the movie ‘Animal’. The movie stars Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandana and Anil Kapoor in lead roles. Directed by Sandeep Reddy Bhangar, the movie was a huge commercial success and grossed over Rs 800 crore worldwide. This year, “Animal” received two more awards. Sandeep Reddy Bhanga won the best director award.
Vicky Kaushal won the Best Actor (Critics) Award for the latest ‘Sam Bahadur’. The film is based on the life of India’s first Field Marshal Sam Manekash. The Meghna Gulzar-directed film was critically acclaimed, but did not do well. Sam Bahadur also starred Fatima Sana Sheikh and Sania Malhotra
