Train movement was stopped for 40 minutes after a crane fell on the railway track during construction of Dhaka Elevated Expressway. At that time, the railway communication with Dhaka was stopped all over the country. The crane fall incident took place on the Moghbazar to Karwan Bazar section of the railway track.
Dhaka Railway Station Station Master Mohammad Anwar Hossain confirmed the matter on Saturday (February 17) morning.
He said that train movement was stopped from 6:45 am to 7:25 am. Later they (Dhaka Elevated Expressway Authority) removed the crane. Later, train movement is normal from 7:25 am.
Dhaka Railway Police Station Officer-in-Charge Ferdous Ahmed Biswas said that no one was injured in the incident.
Earlier on December 7 at around 5 pm, a train engine and a carriage derailed due to the impact of the construction crane of Dhaka Elevated Expressway in Nakhalpara area of Tejgaon.
