The fire on the second floor of a multi-story building adjacent to the capital’s Hatirpool Raw Market has been brought under control. The fire service said that the fire came under control at 8:35 p.m. on Thursday, March 14.
Earlier that day, the fire incident took place at around 6 o’clock in the evening. Seven units of the fire service worked to control the fire. However, nothing is known about the cause of the fire or the casualties.
Eyewitnesses said that just before iftar, they saw a coil of smoke on the second floor of the building. They also said that there was a carpet and cloth godown on the second floor. At that time, due to security reasons, the gas and electricity connections of the neighboring houses were cut off.
