Police Week 2024 is starting tomorrow Tuesday (February 27) with a colorful event like every time. This six-day police week will continue till March 3, 2024.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate Police Week with an orderly and eye-catching annual Police Parade at Rajarbagh Police Lines ground on the first day of Police Week at 10:30 am.
He will inspect and salute the impressive parade of various contingents and flag bearers comprising members of various police units across the country.
On the occasion of Police Week, 400 BPMs and PPMs are being awarded medals for outstanding bravery, heroic deeds, solving cases, crime control, display of efficiency, devotion to duty, integrity and disciplined conduct in the past year 2023.
35 policemen have been awarded ‘Bangladesh Police Padak (BPM)’, 60 have been awarded ‘President’s Police Medal (PPM)’ in recognition of their immense bravery, heroic work and solving important cases, crime control, efficiency, devotion to duty, integrity and 95 police personnel will be awarded ‘Bangladesh Police Medal (BPM-Service)’ and 210 will be awarded ‘President’s Police Medal (PPM-Service)’ for meritorious contribution through disciplinary conduct. The Prime Minister will present the medals to the awardees.
After inspecting the parade and receiving greetings, the Prime Minister will visit the stall of Police Women Welfare Association (PUNAK) and participate in the welfare parade along with the policemen.
On the occasion of Police Week, the President, Prime Minister, Home Minister, Senior Secretary of Public Security Department of Home Ministry and Inspector General, Bangladesh Police will give separate messages.
