On the occasion of Great Independence and National Day Navy ships are open to public

Great Independence and National Day was celebrated today Tuesday (26-03-2024) in the naval areas with due dignity and solemnity. On the occasion of National Day, special prayers were held in the mosques of various naval areas to seek the forgiveness of the souls of the martyred freedom fighters,

the peace, prosperity of the country and the nation and the future progress of the armed forces. On this occasion, documentaries on Bangabandhu and the Liberation War “Unfinished Epic” and “Mujibnagar: The First Capital of Bangladesh” were screened in all the ships and bases of Dhaka, Chittagong and Khulna naval areas among military/civilian members of all ranks. Apart from this, Bangladesh Navy School and College and Shishu Niketan, Dhaka, Chittagong, Khulna and Mongla, respectively, organized discussion programs on the Great Independence and National Day including essays, recitations and sports competitions and distributed prizes.

On the occasion of the day, Banouja Shaheed Akhtar Uddin at BIWTA Launch Terminal Khulna, Banouja Turag at Naval Berth Digraj, Banouja Shahid Daulat at Marine Workshop JT Barisal, Banouja Salam at BIWTA Ghat Chandpur, Banouja Admya at Pagla Naval Jetty Narayanganj, Banouja Attanya at Chittagong Naval Jetty and Sadar Ghat, Banauja Titus in Dhaka is kept open for public inspection from 12 noon to 4 pm.

.At this time, a huge crowd gathers to inspect the ships of the Navy. As part of the observance of the day, all ships and bases in naval areas are decorated with flags and illuminated from dusk to midnight. Besides, the Maritime Museum located in Chittagong’s Lovelane is kept open to the public
