Journalists are very close to me: Dr. Deepu Moni

Awami League joint general secretary and social welfare minister Dr. Dipu Moni said, journalists are very close to me. Because because of his father, he spent his childhood running around in the printing house of Daily Ittefaq. He was involved in Ittefa until his death. Ever since I came to Chandpur, I have developed a relationship with journalists. Until now, that relationship has remained intact.

He said these things at the inauguration ceremony of the 2024 executive committee of the Press Club at the Chandpur Press Club premises on Friday afternoon.

Dr. Dipu Moni said, in journalism many times responsibility is avoided while talking about neutrality. Not all cases are neutral. Because the criminal cannot be taken in the matter of murder and murderer. Then white should be called white and black should be called black. Objectivity should be maintained in journalism. Injustice can never be tolerated.

He said, the path of truth is very difficult. It is very difficult for people of any profession to stay on the path of truth. Times are changing, changes are coming in our professional work. So those working in media should make themselves proficient with technology. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting must understand and solve the problems that exist in the media.

Internationally renowned microbiologist Dr. Senjuti Saha, Chief Engineer of Education Engineering Department. Delwar Hossain Majumder and National Film Award winning lyricist Kabir Bakul were felicitated on the occasion.

State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Muhammad Ali Arafat delivered the opening speech at the event. Chandpur Press Club president Shahadat Hossain Shanto gave a speech as a special guest – Additional Deputy Commissioner Bashir Ahmed, Additional Superintendent of Police Sudipta Roy on behalf of Superintendent of Police, Zilla Parishad Chairman Osman Gani Patwari and Mayor of Chandpur Municipality.
