Clashes broke out between the two parties in the Comilla City Corporation by-election. Two people were shot in the incident. The two injured were rescued and admitted to Comilla Medical College Hospital.
According to local sources, two people named Zahirul Ahmed and Tuhin were shot dead near the Munsi M Ali High School center in Ward No. 19 of Comilla City at 10 a.m. Zahirul and Tuhin were taken to Comilla Medical College with the help of locals.
Injured Zahirul complained and said, I was standing next to the polling camp. At that time, Sujan, a supporter of Bus Marker, the leader of the Mahanagar Chhatra League, shot me and Tuhin in front of the police.
In this incident, Presiding Officer Hasan Ahmed Kamrul said that the incident happened outside the boundaries of the polling station. I have reported the matter to the magistrate.
Returning officer Farhad Hossain said that the law enforcement forces have been ordered to take action after receiving the information. Necessary measures will be taken in this regard.
