Cancer treatment should move towards target therapy.

Professor Dr. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Vice-Chancellor. Md. Sharfuddin Ahmed said, the oncology department should move towards target therapy in cancer treatment.

He said this while addressing the Chief Guest at the Pitha Utsav at F-Block Oncology Department of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University on Sunday.

BSMMU Vice-Chancellor said that in the treatment of cancer patients, target therapy should be given instead of giving 12 chemotherapy simultaneously. The number of patients is increasing due to recruitment of new teachers in BSMMU. The oncology department has a lot more to do in terms of service delivery. The extent to which the service is increasing should also be recorded for research.

BSMMU oncology department chairman professor Dr. Md. Under the chairmanship of Nazir Uddin Mollah, the head of the medical oncology division of the oncology department, Dr. Sarwar Alam, Associate Professor of Clinical Oncology Dr. Sadia Sharmin and others were present.
