A fire broke out in a shoe godown near Nayabazar Jindabahar Park in Old Dhaka, the capital. Later, two fire service units reached the spot and brought the fire under control.
Rashed bin Khalid, the duty officer of the fire service control room, said that the fire occurred at 10:24 PM on Saturday (March 2).
He said that a fire was reported in a shoe godown on the ground floor of the fifth-floor building next to Nayabazar Jindabahar Park in Old Dhaka. On receiving the information, two units of fire service reached the spot and started working to control the fire. The fire was finally brought under control around 10:49 p.m.
Initially, the cause of the fire and the extent of the damage were not known. Apart from this, there was no news of casualties in the fire.
