In a separate incident in Gazipur, two people died after being hit by a train. The accident happened on Saturday (March 2) at 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. at different places.
The deceased are Rabbani (25), son of Hakim of Mukutpara village in Dumur upazila of Nilphamari district. He is a local factory worker. However, the identity of the youth killed in the Konabari Kholapara area was not found.
Eyewitnesses and locals said that on Saturday (March 2), around 11 o’clock, he was walking along the path adjacent to the Ratanpur railway gate of Kaliakair upazila. He had headphones on. At that time, when the train hit him from behind, his body was dismembered.
After receiving the information, the police reached the spot and recovered the body. He worked in a local factory. On the other hand, around 7 a.m., locals saw the dismembered body of a young man on the Konabari Kholapara railway line in Gazipur metropolis. Later, they informed the Konabari police station, and the police came and recovered the body.
Konabari Police Station Deputy Inspector (SI) Saidur Rahman said that the body was recovered from the spot after receiving information. But his identity has yet to be confirmed. As the body was found on the railway line, the railway police were buried.
Deputy Inspector (SI) of Joydevpur Junction Railway Police, Shahidul Islam, confirmed the truth of the incident.
