Chief Justice of Bangladesh Obaidul Hasan addressed senior police officers on the last session of the six-day Police Week 2024 under the slogan ‘Smart Police, Smart Country, Shanti Pragatir Bangladesh’. With this, various formalities of Police Week 2024 have ended.
Inspector General of Police, Bangladesh Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun BPM (Bar), PPM presided over the function organized at Bangladesh Police Auditorium, Rajarbagh this Sunday evening.
Supreme Court Appellate Division Justice M, Inayetur Rahim, newly retired Justice Borhan Uddin, Justice Md. Ashfaqul Islam, Bangladesh Attorney General Abu Mohammad Amin Uddin, Additional IGP of PBI and President of the Subcommittee regarding the implementation of this event Banaj Kumar Majumdar, Additional PoliceIGPs, heads of various units of Dhaka Police, all Metropolitan Police Commissioners, Range DIGs and District Superintendents of Police were present on the occasion.
Chief Justice Obaidul Hasan urged the police officers to come forward in the service of the country by using their intellect and mind.
Addressing the police officers, the Chief Justice said, in establishing democracy, you will perform your duties with full respect for fundamental rights.
He said that Bangladesh Police has set a unique example in dealing with any crisis starting from natural disasters like floods, tidal waves and cyclones. He said that during the Corona period, the police have created a brilliant example of service by delivering food and medicine from door to door.
In the President’s speech, the IGP said that the Hon’ble Prime Minister is building the future of the country by keeping the dream of Bangabandhu. After the implementation of Digital Bangladesh by the hands of the Hon’ble Prime Minister, the country is on the way to Smart Bangladesh.
He said that Bangladesh Police has been faithfully performing the duty of maintaining law and order in the country as well as providing security to the people.
IGP expressed sincere thanks to the Chief Justice and other judges.
It is to be noted that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated Police Week 2024 with a spectacular annual police parade at Rajarbagh Police Lines ground at 10:30 am last Tuesday (February 27, 2024). Police Week 2024 ended on Sunday night through various work sessions
