According to Interior Minister Igor Klymenko, eight people were reported killed in an attack that destroyed a nine-story building on Saturday.
About 100 rescuers were searching for about 10 missing people late Saturday night.
In addition, five people were injured in Russian attacks in the eastern Donetsk region between Saturday and Sunday, local officials said.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has urged Western allies to provide more air defense systems to counter Russian attacks in the third year of the war.
“We need more air defense from our partners,” Zelensky said in a post on social media on Saturday.
We need to strengthen Ukraine’s air shield to add more protection for our people from Russian terrorism. More air defense systems and more missiles will save lives.
