A British cargo ship has sunk in the sea after suffering severe damage in an attack by the military backed by Yemen’s Houthi rebels.
About two weeks ago, the ship named Rubimar was hit by a missile attack by the Yemeni military in the Bab al-Mandeb Strait. The cargo ship was attacked on its way north.
Yemen said the ship it attacked sank late Friday night due to stormy weather in the Red Sea. Al-Jazeera news.
Yemen warned the ship could sink due to water entering its engine room. Even then, the cargo ship remained abandoned for 12 days.
In this condition, Yemeni government officials warned that if the ship sinks, it will cause an environmental disaster.
Since October 7, Israel has started a barbaric military invasion of the Gaza Strip. In protest, Yemen’s Houthi Ansarullah movement-backed military forces have been attacking Israeli ships sailing through the Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea. In addition, Yemen has warned that ships from any country going towards the port of Israel will be targeted.
Yemen’s conflict with America and Britain has started over this. In the meantime, the British-American joint forces have carried out several rounds of air and missile attacks against Yemen.
In this context, the Yemeni army has announced that all US and British ships in the region are now their legitimate targets.
