If the aggression in Gaza does not stop, the attack in the Red Sea will continue

Yemen, backed by the Houthi rebels, has been attacking commercial ships owned by the country and heading to the country since last November in protest against Israel’s horrific massacre in the besieged Gaza Strip.

The Houthis have also launched attacks on Western ships since the British-US coalition launched airstrikes on Houthi positions last month to deter Yemen.

When the Houthis were asked on Tuesday if the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in Gaza would stop their attacks in the Red Sea, they said, “We will consider stopping the attacks if the blockade on Gaza is lifted and humanitarian relief is allowed to reach there freely.”

About 30,000 Palestinians have been killed and 70,000 Palestinians have been injured in the Israeli genocide campaign in Gaza since October 7 last year.

The Houthis have made it clear that they will not attack the ships of any country that did not take Israel’s side in the Gaza massacre. But still some of the world’s leading shipping companies have stopped plying their ships through the Red Sea altogether.
