Awami League leader Zahidul Islam Tipu and college student Samia Afran Priti were shot dead in the capital’s Shahjahanpur.
The court has fixed February 27 for the hearing of the charge sheet against 33 accused including Dhaka Metropolitan South Awami League’s organizing secretary Ashraf Talukder.
Thursday (February 22) was scheduled for hearing the charge sheet in the case. Judge Ali Hossain of Dhaka’s Special Judge Court-3 fixed the hearing of the charges on February 27 as the defendants detained in jail were not brought to court.
It is known that on March 24, 2022, Awami League leader Zahidul Islam Tipu was shot and killed in front of the butter showroom next to Islami Bank in Shahjahanpur. Meanwhile, a college student named Samia Afran Preeti, who was in the rickshaw next to the car, was also killed. Besides, Tipu’s driver Munna was shot dead. After this sensational murder, Tipu’s wife, who was killed at Shahjahanpur police station, Farhana Islam Dolly, the reserved councilor of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), filed a murder case as the plaintiff.
