The US Embassy in Moscow has been informed about the terrorists’s plan to attack the capital of Russia.
. The warning came hours after Russian security officials said they had foiled a plan by a group from the Afghan branch of the Islamic State (IS) militant group to launch a shooting attack on a synagogue in Moscow.
Meanwhile, the US Embassy has repeatedly urged its citizens to leave Russia. The embassy did not provide any details about the threat of a terrorist attack. However, they advised people not to go to concerts, to avoid crowds, and to be aware of their surroundings.
The US Embassy website said, “The Embassy is reviewing reports of imminent terrorist attacks on large public gatherings, including concerts in Moscow. US citizens are advised to avoid crowded areas for the next 48 hours.
A few hours before this, Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) said in a message that they foiled the attack plan of an IS cell in a synagogue in Moscow.
It is not clear whether this message is related to the US Embassy warning.
