In January, the army lost control of a town to the country’s ethnic minority fighters, Myanmar military sources said. And in this incident, the three military officers were sentenced to death.
“Three brigadier generals have been sentenced to death,” an army source told AFP on condition of anonymity. Among them is the commander of the city of Laukkai, which has lost control.
Another military source later confirmed the incident. It should be noted that military officials are not allowed to speak to the media in Myanmar.
