Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Saber Hossain Chowdhury is going to Keniya to attend the high-level segment of the 6th United Nations Environment Conference on behalf of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. He will leave Dhaka for Keniya on Monday (February 26) afternoon.
As the world grapples with climate change, loss of nature and biodiversity and (plastic) pollution, the theme of this year’s UN Environment Session is ‘Effective, Inclusive and Sustainable Cooperative Action to Combat Climate Change, Biodiversity Loss and Pollution’.
Minister Saber Chowdhury will participate in the high level segment of the session, deliver the country statement of Bangladesh and highlight the country’s achievements in locally driven adaptation. Along with the importance of national initiative and ownership in environmental protection, he will highlight the importance of global unity and action.
He is scheduled to return home on March 3 after attending the UN Environment Conference.
