A few days ago, Sachin Tendulkar became a victim of a fake video (deepfake). Even Rashmika Mandana, Kareena Kapoor, Alia Bhatrao fell into its trap. Now Virat Kohli’s name has been added to this list.
Recently, a video of this cricket star has gone viral on social media. In it, Kohli is seen promoting an online betting app. From his fans to all the cricket lovers of the world who were surprised to see. Not only this, you can earn a lot of money in a very short time using this app. That is what has been claimed. However, after this fake video spread, Kohli’s followers protested strongly.
Earlier, Sachin had expressed his displeasure at being a victim of deepfake videos. Sachin released a video on January 15. Master Blaster appealed in that video. He said, ‘Fake videos are made using technology. So if you watch this video, definitely report it. Social media platforms should also take appropriate action against any complaint. If no action is taken from their side, such deepfake videos will spread more and more.’
Last year (2023) several famous personalities fell under the grip of deepfakes. This time Virat’s name was included in that list. Finally he turned to the law. Mumbai Police’s cybercrime wing was shaken.
It should be noted that the use of AI (Artificial Intelligence) to create fake videos (deepfake) is increasing. This is being done by targeting elites and stars in particular.
