There is a plan to build one mini stadium in each upazila of the country. Youth and Sports Minister Nazmul Hasan said that if the DPP is approved, the construction of the stadium will be implemented.
Youth and Sports Nazmul Hasan gave this information in a written answer to a question by Awami League member Jannat Ara Henry at the National Parliament session on Sunday (February 18). Speaker Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury was presiding over the session.
Nazmul Hasan said, there is a plan to build one mini stadium in each upazila of the country. Construction of Sheikh Russell Mini Stadiums in 125 Upazilas has been completed in June-2019 under the project ‘Construction of Mini Stadiums at Upazila Level-First Phase’ as part of construction of Sheikh Russell Mini Stadiums in each Upazila.
The project titled ‘Construction of Sheikh Russell Mini Stadium – Phase II’ was approved in ECNEC meeting on May 4, 2021. Kamarkhand upazila of Sirajganj district is included in the said project and due to land related complications of the said upazila, alternative proposal was sent to the District Commissioner, which has been included in the revised DPP of the project. Once the revised DPP is approved, construction of the stadium will be implemented.
