Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun said that Pragati Industries Limited will be modernized with the technical assistance of Korea soon. He said, Pragati will make cars. There are also plans to develop fuel-efficient, environment-friendly electric vehicles (EVs).
He said these things while speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony of Pragati Industries Limited’s Dhaka office premises at Tejgaon in the capital on Wednesday.

He said, we could not go to the place where Pragati was supposed to reach as a state-owned institution. Pragati imports parts from abroad and assembles them here. There is a lot of development going on in the country today. The time has come to build a smart Bangladesh under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. To work towards the commitment we have made.
Industry minister said, we have to survive by competing in the era of globalization. Quality and up-to-date products should be produced. Not only sedan cars, affordable cars and motorcycles should be produced
