Metrorail is now one of the vehicles used in daily work in the capital. Due to the absence of traffic jams and less time, hundreds of thousands of people travel by metro rail every day. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has announced to build 5 more metrorails this time.
He made this announcement at a press conference organized on Friday at the Ganabhaban regarding his visit to Munich, Germany.
Sheikh Hasina said that the traffic congestion in Dhaka has reduced a lot because of metro rail and elevated expressway. The elevated expressway is now up to Farmgate. It will be further expanded. Besides, 5 more metrorails will be built across Dhaka. We are taking that action.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister has also ordered the operation of the traffic light system to prevent traffic jams in Dhaka
